2019, July 17th. This "Family and Friends" annual potluck was very well-attended. There was a lot of delicious food! At PFLAG-Abq, we most often begin our local meetings with "support" at 7:00 PM (then a planned program around 8:00 PM). This evening, no topics or concerns were suggested for discussion, so we moved right to introductions. Representatives of many of Albuquerque's (and New Mexico's) service organizations, and a few faith groups, explained their organizations and presented their visions and purposes. We saw the amazing diversity of Albuquerque's LGBTQ community.

2019, June 19th. AVER (American Veterans for Equal Rights) showed their film "The Long Determination," a history of the men and women who have served since the American Revolution, plus many personal stories--told by members of every military service and their spouses and supporters--of events leading to the repeal of 'Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell' (a policy that lasted from 1994 through 2011).
